A Tree for All Season opens at the EAC

Yes, yes, Trashy Fans, many Trashy Women and Trashy Women-in-waiting are showing their stuff at the Elkton Arts Center.

That's at 135 East Main Street in Elkton, home of the Cecil County Arts Council, the 30year+ supporter of the arts in Cecil County. Log onto www.cecilcountyartscouncil.org
and see what totally cool stuff they offer!

And come to the opening tonight of "A Tree for all Seasons" ---it runs from 5-7 pm at the above address. There will be music and snickysnacks and swellzo art-type people...you'll have such a good time that you'll want join the CCAC, just to be part of the art action crowd in the county!

See you there, artists and art fans! As Mondrian would have said: Be there, or be square!

We're seeing (simply) Red!

Trashy Woman Sue Eyet of Studio 432 will be strutting her stuff at Bulle Rock this Saturday from 11-2. Woohoo!
"Simply Red" is a healthy heart event for the ladies, sponsored by Upper Chesapeake Health...now, my doctor says that the best medicine is a strong dose of retail therapy, best filled through the kind and able hands of Studio Sue!!!

Studio 432, Home of the Trashy Women!

Well, TWs, it's up, it's finally up!

www.studio432.biz is up in all its Technicolor glory...

and Studio 432/Earthly Passion is making the donation to the Stancill Wulkow Endowed Scholarship Fund of Cecil College--- it's a scholarship for a single female head of household pursuing her education---it helps pay for classes, books and child care. The only stipulation is that the student take one art course!

(this fund was started by the wonderful clay pit people there in Perryville; doing good works from the ground up, as it were)

It's a perfect fit for the Trashy Women, I'm thinking --- and I would like to propose that each of the Trashy Women make something (either one thing or a product line) for the Trashy Women IV show and have the proceeds of the sale of that item dedicated to the Fund.

That way we could make (as a Trashy Women group) an annual donation to the Fund.

I'll talk about more at the February meeting ---2-17-08, don't forget your nametags!

Trashy Women, Ho!

The tectonic troupe* of Trashy Women met Sunday the 27th for a stimulating session: we welcomed new member Mindy Jarusek, planned and plotted for upcoming shows**, formed committees right and left, and traded treasures like nobody's business...pictured here are Jamie, Donna and Heidi, the fabulous fiber females!

I'll send out the assignments for next month's meeting...until then, happy scrounging!

Bazaart Has Heart!

Trashy Women Sue Eyet and Maggie Creshkoff took their TW treasures to the American Visionary Art Museum this week.
On Friday evening and Saturday November 23-24 hundreds of men, women and children gawked and gasped and Wowed in wonder at the marvels; there were armfuls of cards passed out for the Open House at Studio 432 first weekend in December, and gosh all hemlocks, we'll see you there...
